5th Anniversary Issue

$20.00

Welcome,

Dear Reader,

to the 5th Anniversary Issue of Lampblack magazine. It features the work of Dionne Ford, Major Jackson, Evan C. Loving, Mofiyinfoluwa O., Kailah Figueroa, GOODW.Y.N, Elisha Oluyemi, Sherae Rimpsey, Nyeda Stewart, Mya/Matteo Alexice, and Mahogany L. Browne.

All of the voices in this 5th volume of Lampblack’s magazine may not be talking about the same thing, but all of the vernacular is very Black. The alchemy of the words inside of this issue offers readers/authors the opportunity for transmutation and transportation. We feel it in the cadence of each writer’s intonation.

This issue is fem dominant. Even when the men speak about women, it is with reverence. This is not what you expect from what they told us Black Literature was supposed to be like. Each work in here saying, “sit down ima learn you a thing.”
